Womens’ Championship AnnouncementDate: 05 March 2018 at 17:10 by Liam Cook
Coventry United Ladies Football Club can confirm our bid to join the newly named FA Womens’ Championship for the 2018/19 season.
Formerly known as FA Womens’ Super League 2, United have become one of several Tier 3 clubs to announce our intention to step up to Tier 2 from this summer onwards. Those familiar with the club will know we wish to play at the highest level possible, and we are confident our bid to join the Championship will be successful.
We firmly believe we have the players, coaches, staff, volunteers, fans and facilities to compete with England’s top womens’ clubs, and would like to put on record our thanks to all involved in the bid, and all those who make Coventry United Ladies what it is today.
Jade Ogle, Director of Coventry United Ladies Football Club, had this to say on the matter.
“We are delighted to publicly announce that we will be submitting a bid to enter the revamped WSL championship. The club have worked tirelessly on and off the pitch to allow the bid to be a real strong manifesto of intent.”
We will learn if our application has been successful in May 2018.
